The Multi Terrain Race is a tough 1/2 Marathon round the town of Forfar.  The race route contains a varied mixture of running surfaces from country park paths, road, pavement, farm track, fields and bogs - the bogs can be thigh deep in places during wet weather.

The course will be route marked, it is advised that:

  • due to bad weather

  • dog walking old grannies / geriatrics

  • as well as the local tree huggers who take great pride in changing the direction of the route arrows

every runner studies and carries a map of the course.  In the first three years many runners did not take the map provided and got lost - they were warned!!

After race hospitality is legendary with bar open from 12:30pm and the club laying on a gigantic feast for the hungry runners and spectators.

Due to the time of year it is compulsory that you carry liquid, food & full body cover inc hat gloves dry top and waterproofs.

Kit Checks will begin at 10:50am

This race is not recommended for novice runners.

Multi Terrain Race: Sunday 7th February 2010

A mild day with a little drizzle gave the 103 runners a perfect day for a very different race which included 3 course records.

Despite 75 m knee high water full of ice and a 300m climb at 9 -10 miles there were no complaints as the runners tucked into a fantastic buffet which lasted till the rugby finished.

Congratulations to all the runners, thanks go to the marshals and club members who contributed to the catering and everybody who helped to make this race so enjoyable for all the runners
